GLE is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Systems Engineer to support various work activities culminating in a pilot demonstration test.
Essential responsibilities include:
- Work with mechanical design team to develop gas handling and mechanical system functional requirements.
- Planning, procurement, installation, commissioning and operation of controls systems to automate the operation of gas handling and mechanical subsystems.
- Programming PLCs embedded in gas handling and mechanical control systems
- Integrate gas handling and mechanical control systems with laser subsystem controls into pilot demonstration control system strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in relevant field
- 5+ yrs experience in control systems design and specification
- experience with specification, programming and use of Allen-Bradley PLCs and software
- experience with pressure, temperature and motor controls
- experience working in UF6 environment a plus
The role is subject to the incumbent’s ability to hold a NRC/DoE Q-clearance as well as their ongoing ability to maintain site access.
